IBO - Festival of Hope

The Festival of Hope creates a space where millions of young people can speak their truth and feel heard. With opportunities to engage virtually and in person, the festival is built to continue growing and evolving to support the ideas, conversations, and projects that arise from the community. Acimona got selected as one of the 2023 Global Youth Action Fund Awardees representing over 300 youth from 48 countries.

Save Our Planet - TMX

As a grassroots volunteer organization, Save Our Planet works with members of the community, environmental organizations and Indigenous groups to share compelling information about the potential impacts of TMX with key audiences. Acimona published a photography journalism project on Save Our Planet.

Vancouver International Volunteer Association

Vancouver International Volunteer Association (VIVA) provides a new method of volunteering by focusing on attending volunteering events as an organization and publicizing other local volunteering opportunities. Acimona co-hosted a photography competition with VIVA.

No Pipeline

Hug the Mountain is a Protect the Planet lead event on Burnaby Mountain that brings together partner organizations that are working to stop the TransMountain Pipeline Expansion. Acimona cooperated with Hug the Mountain by publishing a photojournalism report and providing media traction.

Indigenous Women Rise

Recognizing that vibrant and diverse Indigenous communities are the original protectors and strength of Canada, Indigenous women are called upon to join the Indigenous Women Rise collective. This collective aims to ensure Indigenous Women’s voices are heard and to raise the visibility of Indigenous peoples' rights and Issues.
